The Traditional Music Shop is located on Fisherstreet, a few doors down from the well-known O’Connor’s Pub. If you hear musicians playing there, or in any of Doolin’s pubs, you can be sure that their CDs will be stocked in our shop. We have been supporting local artists over the years, so watch this site for exclusive distribution of new releases. We also carry all nationally known groups and individuals to make ours one of the most broad-ranging collections of traditional music displayed west of the Shannon.
For musicians and learners we also have a good range of instruments related to Irish music — bodhrans, flutes, concertinas, fiddles, guitars, harmonicas, tambourines, bones, spoons and harps. If we don’t have it, we will do our best to source it for you, including uillean pipes for those willing to wait, and everything can be shipped around the world. We support local artisans and have several different suppliers, so that our customers can make comparisons between their work.
We supply instruments to the Doolin School of Music, which has a grant to purchase exclusively from our shop. We have a good selection and, if you are starting out, our prices are very competitive. Also on hand are tutorials to help you on your way to learning — with in-house musicians ready to demonstrate and help you make your choice.
